After taking a career break in the 90’s, I returned to teaching in 2014 because it is an area I have always enjoyed. Soon after I returned and trained under the new coaching method, I quickly discovered the benefits of these new training techniques introduced in the industry, compared to the traditional instructing methods.
It is what is we call client centered learning in the industry. Each lesson is based on the student’s personal goals and their ability to achieve them is discussed with them so they assume responsibility from an early stage. For those who are familiar with coaching, SMART objectives are set which ensure the student is able to achieve their goals and finish each lesson with a clear understanding of what has been taught.
Students often ask me how many lessons will they need – as many as is necessary I reply; everybody learns at a different rate. Learning to drive can be expensive and more so if you have a coach which the inability to coach you effectively. This is why it is important to find a coach who understands and implements effective coaching techniques.
This is my promise, to coach you in a way which suits your ability and objectives thus getting you ready for your test day with an attitude based on safety and control. I make it clear from the start, I will not teach you how to pass your test, I will teach you how to drive in a safe and controlled way and with that you will pass your test. Your test begins the day after you pass, when you are on your own and must make decisions without my guidance.
Driving is for life, it’s important you understand the concept of safety and control from the onset.
Enjoy your experience.
